Tips and safety · Costa Adeje

Enjoy Siam Park calmly and safely

Here we have gathered practical tips for a comfortable day at Siam Park, with special attention to families with children. We cover sun protection, hydration, footwear, posture on slides, and pool supervision. These do not replace the instructions of the park staff, which always take priority. Use them as a checklist before leaving your hotel in Costa Adeje or the surrounding area.

Sun protection in a water park

The sun in the south of Tenerife is strong even with a breeze, and the water reflects radiation. Apply water-resistant sunscreen 20 minutes before entering and reapply after several rides. Pay attention to shoulders, ears, tops of feet, and the back of the legs, areas that burn while waiting in lines.

A lycra t-shirt helps during long waits without shade. A cap is useful out of the water, although you won't be able to wear it on the slides.

Areas that burn in line

While waiting standing up, the sun hits four spots directly that almost no one covers at first. Check them every time you return to your sun lounger.

  • Shoulders, especially the part that remains exposed depending on your position on the float.
  • Ears and the back of the neck, the area most noticeable at the end of the day.
  • Tops of feet and ankles, punished by the reflection of the water.
  • Back of the legs, which is almost never reapplied.

While you are inside

Sunscreen loses effectiveness with each ride, so the break between slides is also a good time to reapply. If you are with children, do it at the same stop so you don't forget later.

Out of the water

A cap protects you on walkways and in lines in the sun. On the attractions, you will have to take it off, so keep a bag or a locker near your base.

Day's pace

Hydration and real breaks

Alternating water and slides prevents dizziness and energy drops in the mid-afternoon. There is no need for a strict schedule: just drink water frequently, not only when you are thirsty, and eat something light before intense sessions.

Alcohol and very heavy meals do not combine well with drops and turns. If a child is pale or tired, take a long break in the shade. It is better to lose an hour than to drag discomfort all day.

Signs that it is time to stop

  • Headache or feeling dizzy between rides.
  • Pale skin on a child, even if they say they are fine.
  • Tiredness that appears before noon.

Eating without ruining the afternoon

A light sandwich or a small portion before returning to the towers works better than a large meal. Leave some time for digestion in the shade and take the opportunity to reapply sunscreen and check the children's armbands. If the day is busy, split the meal into two short stops instead of one long one.

Walking route

Footwear and movement between attractions

Wet floors and stairs require sandals with a back strap or non-slip water shoes. Avoid loose flip-flops that come off on ramps and platforms.

Posture and rules on slides

Each slide indicates how to lie down, cross your legs, and hold onto the float. Listen for the start signal and do not push off ahead of time. Do not try to brake with your elbows or feet or change position in the middle of the descent.

Before going down

  • Watch how the person before you does it and listen for the start signal.
  • Cross your ankles and hold the float handle with both hands.
  • If you wear prescription glasses with a strap, ask the staff if you can use them on that ride.

Following these guidelines reduces bumps and prevents blockages on the track: if someone brakes halfway through, those coming behind have no margin.

Loose objects

For safety reasons, loose objects are not allowed on most slides. Mobile phones, sunglasses, or flip-flops should be left in a locker or at your base before going up to the tower.

Children and constant supervision

At Siam Beach and in family pools, maintain constant visual contact with minors. Agree on an easy-to-remember meeting point near your base sunbed and repeat it out loud before entering the water.

Armbands and toy floats do not replace adult supervision. In children's areas like Sawasdee, supervise from the edge and help with slippery entries and exits. If the child cannot swim, limit areas to the marked shallow zones.

Before they let go

  • Teach the child to recognize the park staff's uniform.
  • Choose a sunbed with a high and visible visual reference as your base point.
  • Save the locker number on your mobile or memorize it.

If something goes wrong

What to do if you get lost or need help

Memorize where your base point is from the start and some high visual reference. Teach children to go to uniformed staff if they get disoriented. Carry your mobile in a waterproof bag only for essentials and with enough battery.

Bumps or cuts

For any bump, cut, or dizziness, go to the park's assistance point without waiting for it to get worse. The staff will assess if you need more than basic first aid.

At the end of the day

Writing down the locker number and the row of sunbeds avoids long searches when you are already tired and want to return to the hotel in Costa Adeje.

Questions before or during the visit

If you need to confirm a schedule, a park area, or how to get there, you can write or call the park. On the contact page, you have the address, phone number, and the guide's email.

Stairs and platforms

Respect and coexistence in queues

Narrow stairs require patience and distance from the group in front. Do not save spots for people who are not in line and do not push on platforms. If traveling in a large group, divide into pairs for double floats as indicated.

Appreciate the staff's instructions even if they repeat the same thing all day. A calm environment makes waiting feel shorter for everyone.

Maintain a reasonable distance from the group in front: avoid pushing when the line moves suddenly.

Do not save a spot for someone who is not already in line; if you are going together, go up together from the beginning.

In double floats, divide into pairs with similar weight so that the descent is stable.

End of the day

After the water and a calm return

Shower and change calmly before leaving to avoid catching a chill from the evening air. Check your ears and eyes if you have tried many rides with heavy splashes. Collect trash from your sunbed area and return trays in dining areas.

Check that you have your keys, documents, and chargers before calling a taxi. An orderly exit rounds off an intense day in Adeje well.

Frequently asked questions

Questions that arise before entering

Three short answers for the most common situations with small children and first visits to the Siam Park waterpark.

What do I do if my child is afraid of the slides?

Do not force them. Start with children's games and the wave pool at the shore, and leave the big slides for another time or trip. Seeing other children do it calmly in the shallow area helps more than any prior explanation.

Can I use my mobile on the rides?

For safety reasons, loose objects are not allowed on most slides. Use it in rest areas and keep it in a locker or waterproof bag. If you need it for an emergency contact, check the battery before going down to the towers.

Is there enough shade for babies?

There are areas with natural shade and umbrellas, but they fill up during peak hours. Arrive early and combine water time with covered breaks. A dry change of clothes and a large towel in case it gets chilly at the end of the day are enough.
